2nd day in SZ - HK (16.4.2010)

is lok's birthday!!!

SZ-Wake up in the morning. walk around to find breakfast, then we discover a restaurant (cant remember the name) with quite a lot of people. so we just walk in without thinking. we order a set of porridge + cheong fun and HK shun tak steam egg. emm..yummy!

Then we walk again and wanted to try other food, and we choose a mix rice shop. all the price has been stated. we just pick some vege + meat + soup, then pay. we enjoy eating it >o<

12pm we check out from haifu SZ hotel and head to HK. we took a taxi till SZ luohu station, then go to immigration and get our passport stamped. immeditely when we go through the immigration, the HK MTR (HK lo hu station) was there and ready to take us to anywhere else in HK. we bought a Octopus card (HKD100+HKD50 as deposit) because 10% discount if using octopus card for every journey. but they charge HKD7 if we return the card within 3 months.

HK.. here we go..

the MTR is super link, very easy and convenient especially for foreigners, the system is good and fast. from LO HU-> Hung Hom-> East Tsim Sa Tsui -> Tsim Sa Tsui-> Admiralty (jing zhong)-> Causeway Bay-> our HK HOSTEL at causeway bay.

when we got down from the station, we was abit blur, don noe where the hostel is. so we walk around (15min) n finally found it. we were abit curious because the building is actually for residence, and i tink they make some units into hostel. we follow a security guard to 3rd floor to register. we make the payment by credit card. we got our room key (13 floor, room C)and password for coming into this building.

There is a guy help us to carry a baggage (but because no small money, all HKD50 & 100, so we din give him any tips, soory). we were shock once more, the room was so small (~270cm x 210cm). but no complain as it is cheap, only ~RM150/day. although is small, but the room has almost everything (TV, Fridge, aircon, double bed, side table, cupboard, toilet, toilet paper). we rest for awhile and try to explore the small room. the aircon is written SUPER QUITE, but when we switch on, is SUPER NOISY!! lucky the weather is cool, and we still can survive without aircon. bathroom shower tap not very good, but got hot water. so without loosing any seconds, we head down to causeway bay, walk around and have a bowl of porridge & 'zha liong' before going to TSIM SHA TSUI to enjoy the symphony of lights.

around 5pm we took MTR from causeway bay->central and take a ferry from central->tsim sha tsui. it is very convenient and cheap. we took our dinner 1st before we enjoy the symphony of lights (started 8pm everyday).

Then we walk around and sit at a place and wait for the lights to turn on. very nice scenery and we took some photos. people getting crowded as it is about 7:45pm. there are people blocking our view..grrhhhh..8pm..started..a light show across 50 buildings on Kowloon and HK side, with laser beams, colored light with music celebrating HK's energy and spirit. the lights will follow the music and it turns out to be very beautiful and unique. nice!! shows end after 15min.

Then we walk along the avenue of stars. we alot of actor/actors palm printed along the road. it is very windy tat nite, and i was in a jacket shivering >o<. it is quite a long path, and we enjoy a cup of ice blended coffee in starbucks. of course we sit inside, or else i will become ice tube:)

we cant walk back to the jetty, as it is long long way, so we decide to take MTR bac to causeway bay from tsim sa tsui station. then we walk again to grab someting at nite around causeway cay, there are so many people. huuh. around 11:30pm, we head back to hotel and rest. continue our journey tomorrow!!
